A taste of the Toxic

I wrote a little bit about a particular dj favorite of mine not to long ago. Since then we’ve been in contact with IHEARTCOMIX and in turn, got some lovin’ from Toxie. Yep, I’m talking about the Toxic Avenger.

Since my last introduction of the gem, Toxie (aka Simon DeLacroix) has secured his place as one of the top electro producers, and has provided his signature touch on a number remixes for many well known artists. NOt to mention what looks and sounds like a mental US tour.

He was nice enough to share some of his up and coming music with us. The stand out of which was a copy of his new EP ‘Toxic is Dead’. I can guarantee this will never leave my side. And as if the track itself wasn’t spine tingling in an a completely angry way, the remixes are something quite special. Download the two tracks we want you to hear,  here.

My particular favorite was the hard sampled ‘Cyberpunkers‘ remix. The Cyberpunkers pride themselves on ‘dirty, dirty electro’ and they themselves are worth a look. More on them another time. For now, grab a copy of their remix of Toxic Avengers new release as well as the original ‘Toxic Is Dead‘

It holds with it everything that makes me love a Toxic Avenger track, but completes the package with a rather beautiful scratchy introduction before dropping straight into the darkness that is Toxie.

We asked the question about a UK Tour. I know, I was being selfish as I’d really like to see this man in action. I was disappointed to hear there were none planned, but found some solace in the fact they were looking into it. So fingers crossed for an evening of ear popping emotronich/thrash electro. Sounds good… doesn’t it?

I’m getting very close to a trip across the channel…. just for this.
