ALI B – OH SHIT! (PARADISE) [VOL 2]

Breakbeat legend, Air label owner and all round enthusiast of records that go bump, Ali B has a new mix for your ears to sample and enjoy. Following on from the first ‘Oh S**t’ mix here is part two Ali once again provides a musical journey of the hits and all round favorites of the past three decades. As always, Ali has been digging deep into the chasms of his crates and, as always, has pulled of a blinder.

Kicking off with the sublime ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ by Lou Reed the whole mix continues with the classic theme, touching on soul, rock, reggae, dub funk re-edits and laced together with Hip-Hop cuts and vocal loops.

Intermingled with more recent references to current, bass soaked contemporary music, the dub Beyonce ‘Crazy’ re-edit is mint, same thoughts can be applied to the ODB / Prince Fatty edit. Sick!

On the whole it makes for the sort of thing you’d drink Mojhitos to somewhere sunny, a bit bling and packed of fast women. Say Miami perhaps? Don’t let my unbridled imagination put you off though, it’s known to be way off the mark and an ickle bit fantasist.
