Band of Horses//UK Dates//New Album
To mark the release of their new album, ‘Infinite Arms’, Band Of Horses have confirmed they will play London’s Koko this April 12th. Tickets have been on sale since the 26th of February, but there’s still some availability. Formally known as just plain Horses, they are an American indie-rock formed in 2004 in Seattle by Ben Bridwell and Mat Brooke. Joe Arnone joined the band in February 2006. They are currently signed to Sub Pop Records, home of the elusive CSS and many, many more.
Their track “The Funeral” was recently used in a short segment on Apolo Ohno at the 2010 Winter Olympics over in Vancouver. An irony the Canadian Ice Hockey team surely reveled in. Bridwell’s vocals, light, hanging have drawn comparisons to early those of an early Neil Young and Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips, alt-rock at it’s most mesmerizing.
The band have also just announced a forthcoming studio album to be released in May, produced by the band hand in hand with Phil Ek, the album is said to be inspired from the woodlands of their native Carolina. The Koko show is selling fast by all accounts, though fear not if you don’t prevail, they will be back in June, just a little farther up the road to play the Roundhouse.
