‘Disconnected’ – Ocelot Remix
That euphoric pop beauty ‘Disconnected’ by Brooklyn duo Shy Child has just been remixed by another member of Wall of Sound’s diverse roster – Ocelot. Interestingly enough, the label take their name from a music production technique for pop and rock music recordings developed by the prolific yet disgraced Phil Spektor.
Shy Child have been making a lot of noise recently with the imminent release of their new album being highly anticipated, it’s been a little while since their third album ‘Noise Won’t Stop’ which included the just plain win track ‘Break Your Neck’. I recently interviewed Shy Child a little while ago, for more information on the boys click here
To the subject at hand, these Ocelot chaps take their name from a little painted Leopard native to South America, though looking at their blog, it seems a passion for furry criters is not the only thing on their mind. A vast array of technology, fashion, concept design, architecture and of course music litter their page over at our time united, well worth a look.
A cut down version of the melody is laced against the progressive house come electro that the Ocelot due are now famed for. A club classic in the making? Maybe, just maybe. Grab a copy below and make up your own mind!
