Keane Announce 8 Track EP
Following the painful success of their third consecutive Number One album, Perfect Symmetry, Keane, not yet content in forcing public school pop on the world, the band have given us a whiff of an eight-song EP, Night Train, to be released globally on 10th May 2010.
The EP was recorded in various studios during the Perfect Symmetry world tour that saw the band playing in 28 countries, from Australia to Norway, Colombia to South Korea and Lebanon to Switzerland. It is said that the title comes from the band’s favoured mode of transport during the tour. I do hope this is a nod to James Brown. I truly do.
Highlights include Keane’s genre-busting collaborations with Somali/Canadian rapper K’Naan, the irrepressible Stop For A Minute and the Rocky-inspired Looking Back. “I think those tracks show us in a completely different light,” says Keane frontman Tom Chaplin. An electro-pop number which features Japanese baile funk MC Tigarah is promised too, so let’s hope Mr. Chaplin lives up to his word.
Night Train is due for release on CD and download, though if you happen to be a little Keane, sorry could not help myself, there is a special numbered edition of the EP available to pre-order now through www.keanemusic.com
