Lost and Found Club
Who would suspect a fanzine could lead to all this. The ladies behind Lost & Found Club met age eleven at an all girls boarding school, five years later and still incarcerated in the country side they had little else to do but start a fanzine – the enigmatically titled Pyrrha Fanzine.
The next step was a clubnight, named The Error Campaign, the best new bands playing live at a variety of venues, always with a party atmosphere of drunken bonhomie. This continued for two years until the final Error night in March 2005 with an epic six band bill that ended in a riot and a serious damages invoice.
Towards the end of 2004, stricken with the idea of leaving their teenage years, Nadia and Sara decided to start a record label and so Young and Lost Club was founded. Their favourite new band Vincent Vincent and the Villains announced they wanted to be the label’s debut release and since then Young and Lost Club has been responsible for the debut singles from Noah and the Whale, Fear of Flying (now White Lies), Larrikin Love, Pull Tiger Tail, Johnny Flynn, Joe Lean & the Jing Jang Jong , Golden Silvers and other acclaimed bands, with Rough Trade naming them their “favourite indie label”.
Their club night has continued to be a rites-de-passage for young bands, with acts like Jamie T, The Horrors, Klaxons, Cajun Dance Party, Late of the Pier and Jack Penate playing many times in the early stages of their careers.
