Mewbox Vanilla is here.

It’s all been a little fuzzy post the launch party but the haze is slowly clearing and we are putting our heads back together to start working on improvements to what is already a great start.

On the 3rd of December Mewbox announced the full public launch of its DRM-free download store for Google Android. Initially launched as a custom build for the ARCHOS 5 Internet Tablet, Mewbox is now available to use on any Android-enabled phone or device. Offering 4 million tracks from over 23,000 labels, Mewbox provides an exciting new service to the Android community.

Featuring a secure single sign in, meaning users only have to enter their details once, Mewbox makes buying music from a mobile a sensible, safe and easy process. The immersive experience offered by Mewbox’s unique interface makes navigating the huge database a simple and pleasurable experience.

‘Mewbox aims to reconnect the experience value to digital music. The love that music fans feel towards vinyl, a CD or a live gig is missing in the digital space. By connecting with our users in the physical and digital worlds, offering free ticket to gigs and exclusive downloads via the app and our blog, and staging a series of top class live events, Mewbox will bridge the gap between listening to digital music and loving digital music.’ said Neil McManus, the founder of Mewbox.

We’d love thank the upcoming electro duo Heads.Hearts, break artists Freefall Collective, and award-winning innovator Rennie Pilgrem for being there on the night and playing amazing sets. Naturally, we’d also  like to thank everyone who came down to help celebrate this milestone that is set to change the way music works for Google Android.

Grab your copy of the vanilla application from www.mewbox.com.

Enjoy your music.
