Midnight Juggernauts – whoop,whoop

We came across the Midnight Juggernauts early in the winter of ’08 and have been hooked ever since, the single releases ‘Shadows’ and ‘Tombstone’ are heaped with a light euphoria their combination indie rock and psychedelica so feverently brings.
This seemingly natural agent is contrasted by an all together more ominous tone and it is this balance of light and dark that makes their carefully laced, almost cascading tones so alluring and haunting at the same time, ‘Shadows’ being an excellent example of this variance.
This is by no means the be all and all. Tracks like ‘Tombstone’ exude delicate crescendos interwoven with nothing less than a filthy baseline, truly a masterpiece of the recent cross-over culture between the electronic and rock worlds.
The band are highly popular in the Southern hemisphere, notably their native Australia, having self released their first album on their own label Siberia Records, who suitably have their registered office in Azov, Russsia.
Having gained such Aussie traction Capitol France soon came ‘a knocking with the offer of releasing their debut album ‘Dystopia’ globally. To date the album has been highly acclaimed with the likes of BB1 and MTV Europe flogging it on a typically frequent basis.
Their success has not only generated airplay, hand-picked to support Justice on their last tour and making appearances at Glastonbury, Coachella, Primavera and Fuji Rock things are just somewhat pleasing for the boys from Melbourne.
It may be too soon, but we have the abbreviation MJ waiting for a worthy successor and I for one feel we have found them.
