Natubella @ Bridgehouse II // AlexysB reviews
The night was a cold one in Canning Town but the heat was on at the Bridgehouse II with Natubella. Flying the flag for Argentina, lead singer Natubella along with keyboard player Johan (from Sweden) took electronica to an all new height. The show kicked off with Natu slinking out onto the stage like a feline prowling in the night. Once the music began, Natu’s sultry vocals reminded me that I was there to see a gig and not just worship the beauty and finesse that commanded complete control over the audience.
Each song pulled through some simple yet effective electronic sounds and combined it with sensual female vocals giving it a Goldfrap feel. But don’t be fooled by the comparison, Natubella has a unique vocal style of absolute perfection and sex appeal clearly heard on songs like ‘Wanna Love U’ and ‘TDG’. They also show an aggressive side to electro with ‘Little Devil’ and ‘Dear Friend’. Catchy melodies and floor crushing rhythms followed with ‘Beauty & the Beast’, ‘NIB’ and ‘Mysterious Shadow’. This band is destined for great things and I will jump at the opportunity to see them again.
AlexysB plays with Electro Falco and Inertia
