Noah and the Whale – 2 Remixes

Noah and the Whale

Many of us know and love Noah and the Whale – the self styled folk rockers have been a popular figure amongst festivals and concert venues both at home in the UK and abroad. Brought forth by Young and Lost – the ever present and consistent champions of the bright lights of the past five years – we all know the term ‘Landfill Indie’ was created for a reason. And a good one.

This lot do not deserve such a crude association though, irrespective of their hailing from Twickenham. With 4 singles and 3 albums under their belt, the most recent of which ‘The First Day of Spring’ notched up an impressive no.16 in the UK chart.

Things are certainly on the up for these fellas. If you are yet to sample their particular blend a little insight is at hand. Universal have been kind enough to release ‘Love of an Orchestra’ in two re-mixes to us and thus you.

The lyric gives a borderline ecclesiastic impression ‘ furthered by the organ like synths later in the track, swifly introducing a Streets reminiscent base line this develops into a lovely listen.

Subtle but certainly a progressive electro fare with a flickering at the end of each bar, the looped choral creates a simple canvas for the ever developing track developments. Again all rather lovely.
