One for the jungle

Jungle FictionIt’s rare these days to be sent some music and think ‘wow I dig that’. It happened to me yesterday. I was lucky enough to be sent a track that had in it all the things I love about the current state of electro and indeed the revisiting of the 80’s game revolution sound.

People like Kavinsky and Danger dominate this space, so it’s nice to hear some fresh young blood punching through the ranks. While you can hear heavy and obvious influences in their music, I’m really keen to see where these young guys go.

I’m talking about Jungle Fiction, a group of three 17 year olds from Iceland who pulled together in 2008 to play their hand at a bit of electro clash. I have to say, they’ve done alright. I was listening to ‘8bit De La Mort” on their myspace. A brutal addition to this years electro collection, one of the best yet. They’ve also done an epic edit of their song 16bit revolution and a brilliant remix of DatA’s ‘Rapture’ which you can hear on their myspace.

These guys are seriously bending their synthesizers to produce some funky, catchy, fresh, hard dance floor tunes. It looks like they are working on their first EP and I for one can’t wait to see the stuff they push out.

If you fancy hearing their latest remix of ‘Remedy’ which is an absolute cracker, you can download a copy here.

Also check out their myspace

I’m keeping my eye on these guys.
